Ju Continuation of my letter N 4645, 5,

I June, I desire to add that, with reference to the Governor's gazething D = Lieu ! bose, Dry Regiment ; to be hit Ride-de- 1 Camp,

with the Soncurrence of the Officer Commanding the shoops, _ the fovenor appears to have been fully aware of the fact, that I was in Command of the Proops, and not bolonel Hall for I fuid from a report I have just received from beclouel Hall, who is now absent in the stack, that he had promi - -neutly, directed the attention of the Governor to the fact of my being still in Command of the Troops Hough absent pour song rong one a tour of Suspection, and this is poruce out by The Pay: the tuintes of the leveentive bouncil of April shewing that Col. Stall when raising the question whether he should sit as an Official. member had observed that thoug to absent from Hong Kong I still remained in Command, Under these circumstances it is not understand the Governors motive for publisking the notification in the Gazette.
